The CS-1 Control Surface provides a unique and comfortable ergonomic design allowing controlling of up to eight camera heads. The heads can be any combination of RCT robotic models or PTZ cameras from Sony and Panasonic.

The design of the CS-1 is the result of discussions with several experienced camera operators and technicians from different industry sectors. Comfort of use over extended periods was a primary requirement.

Video professionals know the frustration of sub-standard control surface design. Many units on the market today were designed for mass deployment in security camera systems, are very expensive and proprietary for large cameras, or are cheaply made plastic controls that break every hundred hours in actual production use.

Using sub-broadcast standard products adds production risks while using a broadcast purposely designed product offers peace of mind.

When you need mission critical access to multiple cameras, the CS-1 provides not only software customizable tactile controls, but also access to full color shading and servo lens control.

The 7 inch touch screen on the CS-1 provides intuitive access to many features and future software updates will expand the capability for special applications.

One advantage of this type of interface is that it allows you to name cameras and shot presets. It also helps to reduce clutter on the console by eliminating many push-buttons and slider controls.

It is also possible to have different versions of the user interface software optimized for specific applications. For example, a reality show version would provide access to many more cameras than the default eight.

The user interface is context driven. For example: the camera settings screen layout changes depending on the features supported by the selected camera.

With its intuitive interface and integrated CCU functionality, the CS-1 will become the choice controller for camera operators. The CS-1 makes it easy to work with different types of cameras by providing a simple, yet powerful interface to all features and some that are not provided by remote controllers supplied with the PTZ cameras.

Control of Sony VISCA cameras can also be achieved seamlessly over public Internet using the RCT PTZIP interface. Up to 14 VISCA cameras can be controlled via one PTZIP.

The CS-1 Control Surface provides smooth and accurate control of servo zoom lenses from Canon and Fujinon. The lenses are connected directly to the H-1 and H-3 head using a 20-pin Hirose cable ensuring full software control of focus, iris, and zoom. Accurate FIZ settings can be saved and recalled using the shot preset feature of the CS-1.
