Remote Camera Technology provides custom features for Harvard Science and Engineering Complex (SEC)
Harvard University’s new Science and Engineering Complex (SEC) will be opening its doors to students in the fall of 2021. This highly sustainable building is located directly across the Charles River facing the school’s historic Cambridge center.
SEC is an eight-story, 544,000-square-foot (50,539 sqm) building containing a diverse mix of laboratories along with collaborative spaces.
RCT CS-3 controllers were chosen and four are installed throughout three studios. A custom feature was added to the CS-3 to provide simplified assignment of lecture hall PTZ cameras via a Crestron application. The feature, called “Groups”, allows a technician to quickly assign cameras from a selected lecture hall to a specific CS-3 controller. The ability to add custom features such as this is a major selling point for the CS-3. The Groups feature is now included with the product.
