“The requirements for our video suite were to achieve full PTZ and CCU function and control of multiple-cameras for live and recorded productions.  Being able to store and recall preset camera positions and shading settings is crucial.  The RCT CS-3 was an excellent choice to accommodate this and works very well.  The CS-3 is intuitive and is easy to learn quickly.  The support that I have received from RCT has been prompt and effective with updates and for solving any challenges.

Our system has 7 installed PTZ cameras.  The cameras are Panasonic AW-HE130.  The cameras are positioned 1) house left, 2) house center, 3) house right, there is a dedicated 4) FOH shot for the Symphony and a dedicated 5) Conductor camera.  As we are primarily a Symphony Hall, these specific shots are key.  These two dedicated cameras are PTZ controlled via the RCT CS-3  also making them available for any other production.

In addition, there are two cameras on tripods that may be positioned anywhere in the auditorium which are also PTZ controlled by the RCT controller.  All cameras except the FOH and Conductor cams are run through a fibre optic cable.  There are MultiDynes that convert the cameras to Ethernet.

The RCT Controller provides excellent control of all these cameras via presets and for manual control. The cameras are switched via a Black Magic ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio. All signals are also routed via a Black Magic Smart Videohub 12G (40x40).

We have the ability to ISO-record all cameras as well as a switched PGM record via 9 Black Magic HyperDeck SSD 4K. We also can stream a full PGM 1920x1080p switched Video with Stereo audio mixed on our Avid S6L-24C.”
